Methods for carbon dioxide removalBlue carbon management

About the method
This method comprises the conservation and restoration of blue carbon ecosystems such as mangroves, seagrass beds and tidal marshes, which absorb large amounts of CO₂ from the atmosphere and store it in the soil, plants and sediments. Targeted conservation and restoration measures strengthen the natural carbon sequestration capacity of these ecosystems while also improving coastal protection, biodiversity and water quality.
